Oklahoma State Question 792 alcohol ballot measure approved

Oklahoma is poised to have wine and full-strength beer sales in grocery stores in 2018 as voters in the state raised their glasses to State Question 792.

Returns Tuesday night showed an easy passage for SQ 792 at 65.6 percent support for the measure with 1955 of 1956 precincts reporting.

Sen. Stephanie Bice, R- Oklahoma City, a key state lawmaker who crafted much of the legislation to overhaul Oklahoma’s alcohol laws, said she was pleased the measure passed, but there is still work to be done.
